Jon Harris's turning 7 years old!! I can't believe how fast he has grown! These past 7 years have definetly been the best years of my life. Nothing beats being a mom. He has been my greatest accomplishment! (Nash, too!)

Steve, "M-Ashley," "Bo-Daddy," and I threw Jon Harris a birthday party at Pump-It-Up. That is the best place ever! They took care of everything- we got to sit back and enjoy. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids. We had a good mixture there.... we had friends from Covington and Cordova attend. Thanks to all our friends and family for coming- you helped make Jon Harris's birthday very special!

Two Down and Two To Go

I just wanted to congratulate my two best friends on the birth of their precious baby boys!!
Two weeks ago, Katy and Landon Morgan had a bouncing baby boy. Colton Rayne Morgan decided to come into the world 6 weeks early. He weighed 5lbs. and 8 oz. Katy and Colton are home and doing great! We love you guys and can't wait to meet Colton! Keep sending us those pictures!
Yesterday, Amy and Erik Beasley had a beautiful baby boy. Mills Oliver Beasley weighed 6lbs. and 10 oz. He is so beautiful! He has a head full of dark hair. Mills and Amy are doing great! I wished I had pictures but with the excitement- I forgot my camera! We love you guys and we are so excited for you!!

Just being Jon Harris

Jon Harris has always been a pretty smart kid. He comes up with some of the funniest things. The other night during supper, we were talking about our bodies and where your food goes once you chew it up. Jon Harris informed us that your food goes in the stomach. When it leaves there, it goes into the small "testament" and then the large "testament." Bo and I tried to keep a straight face.... it was impossible! At least he has been listening in church but too bad it is totally in the wrong text!

Time Flies

First Day of First Grade
First Day of Kindergarten

Where did the last year go? It seems like yesterday Bo and I were walking Jon Harris into his classroom for the first day of Kindergarten. Today we walked him into the classroom for his first day of First Grade. I can't get over how fast he has grown! Before long he will be begging me not to walk him in school, hold his hand, or kiss him in public. I dread it!
We are very blessed AGAIN this year with a great teacher, Mrs. Bledsoe. I have heard wonderful things about her. We are super excited to get to know her better. And to top it off, Savannah, Jon Harris's best bud, is in his class. I was so worried about moving down here to Shelby County but God continues to bless us all!

Zoo Day

This past Saturday the weather was so beautiful! We decided to go to the zoo (we love having a zoo membership.) One of our favorites was feeding the birds in the new "Birds and Bees" exhibit. Jon Harris loved it! Our other favorite at the zoo was the monkeys (of coarse.)

I think all the animals had a little pep in their step because the weather was so perfect! If you haven't been to the Memphis Zoo lately, you should go...... They got voted #1 zoo in the country.

N A S H

This is Bo. This is my first blog post ever. It also is the first time I've ever posted anything on YouTube. Anyways, we thought this would be a cool way to share this for anybody that wanted to see our little boy's first videos.

It was friggin' amazing to see what all they can do with the ultrasound machine. Not too suprisingly, they can record everything on a DVD-RW. Not a DVD-R. Which, by the way, is what I brought for us to record the event onto. So we had to buy one there. But it was a small price to pay for what we got in return. This thing has some amazing resolution, I think. But I don't know much about birthin' no babies. Thanks to my friend Brian at work I was able to rip the files off the DVD and thought this would be a good place to post them in case anyone wanted to see them. So, on with the show:

This is the first one of four. In it, he's blowing a smoke ring. Weird, right?

Number two. In this he looks like the Terminator. You can see the lens of his eye. Just like the T-1000. Nash is already cool. Or a nerd. Maybe a cool nerd.

Number 3: really cool. I mean, this is really amazing to anyone interested in pumping technology. The technician was able to move this little cursor around into the different chambers of the heart and listen to each section. I mean, you can tell the difference in the positive-pressure chambers and the negative-pressure chambers. Awesome! Also you can see something they do where they "view" the cord's flow and stuff. Really amazing to me. Also really makes me wonder sometime how people think all this stuff happens without an "intelligent designer." A really intelligent designer...

Finally, number 4. This is the one where we finally saw that he is a BOY. Sweet! Also of note to my engineering brain is that his femur was exactly 2.53 cm. That is almost exactly an inch (2.54 cm). So the biggest bone in his body is about the size of one of the little bones in my finger. That really helped me with perspective. I know we're a little late in posting this (we got the news about 2 weeks ago), but now he's 12 ounces and about 10-1/2 in tall. If only i could think of a reference item that is 12 ounces and about 10 inches tall...Anyways, here's the last video:

I guess that's it for now. I tried to get some annotations onto the videos but it was kinda dragging, so I figured we'd just post them for now and let anyone see them that wants to do so. Finally, one cool thing is that for the future ultrasounds, they can just burn them all to the same DVD. Sweet.

Big Brother and new bedroom

Jon Harris is getting excited about being a big brother soon. (He says that he can't wait to teach the baby to work a remote for the T.V.) While he was gone to his dad's house, we thought it would be fun to surprise him with a new bedroom. We moved his room in the office so we can put the baby in his old room. (His old room is closer to our bedroom and we thought there would be less disturbances for Jon Harris if the baby was in there. ) He was so surprised! We painted and bought him a new desk and chair. It was so much fun!
Okay..... If you know Jon Harris then you know how "grown-up" he has always acted. He really does think that he is an adult sometimes. ( I often have to remind him that he is a child and to enjoy it.) Well, Wednesday morning before our doctor's appointment, he came to me and told me that he was dreading the baby coming. I asked him why he felt that way. He said that he would have to stop playing with his friends to take care of the baby. I started laughing.... bless his heart, after talking to him for a while, he has been thinking that he is going to have to be Nash's parent. He told me that since he will be in school during the day, he will just have to take the "night-shift." I have laughed the last 2 days! You never know what goes on in their little minds. I reassured him that he will continue to be a child and enjoy his childhood and leave us (me and Bo) to be the parents. He feels much better now and is excited again about being a big brother. He must have really tried to work out a plan to take care of his little brother. That to me is priceless!!
