3 weeks tomorrow

Nash will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe it! Time flys! It has been crazy around the Weaver household. We are trying to adjust....

Jon Harris has had strep and now it has turned into a staph infection. How? I have no idea! We are on our third round of meds. He is going to have his tonsils and adenoids taken out this spring. Thank goodness! JH is also about to start playing basketball for Faith Baptist. He is so excited! I have heard wonderful things about their basketball program. I can't wait to see him out there playing!

Nash is growing so fast. He is still in preemie clothes- I am hoping to be out of them soon. He has so many cute things to wear but right now they are WAY to big. Nash (I think) is colicky. Bless his heart, we are hoping that it will not last long. We also just switched to formula. I tried nursing for 2 weeks..... it was causing me some major baby blues! There is so much pressure now days on moms to nurse. It is an awesome thing- don't get me wrong- but it was not meeting our needs as a family. I felt so guilty when I stopped but I have learned that it is not for everyone.

We have been so blessed by our church family and friends. Since Nash has been home, we have not had to make a single meal. I have been so humbled..... God has truely blessed us! The people in our church are so incredible. They have taught me so much but the most important thing they have taught me is what it means to "serve" God and his people. - We love you guys! I am so proud to be in a church family where I know my children will grow in Christ and also learn what it means to be a "Servant."

A Week of Blessings!!!

Our Family

Nash Thompson Weaver 5lbs. 10ozs. 19 inches

Our Sweet Baby Boy

JH waiting patiently on his baby brother!

Wow! Has it been a week or what???? I can't believe that I am just now getting the time to post sweet Nash on our blog!
Last Wednesday morning, I got out of bed (as usual) to get Jon Harris up from school. When I walked in his room, I thought I was "wetting" on myself. lol! It took me about 10 minutes to realize that my water had broke. I called Sarah and Bo to tell them. We all were in shock! Sarah beat Bo to our house. I thank God for her for so many reasons but I am so thankful that she was able to get there and help me with Jon Harris! She took GREAT care of him while we were in the hospital. I could not have made it with out her! - Bo got home and we finished packing and headed to the hospital.
We got there about 10ish. I checked in and had to wait in the waiting room for about a hour. When they finally called me back, I had to go in a triage room. I had to wait about 3 and 1/2 hours for a labor and delivery room to finally open. It was a mad house- the nurses said that the cold front that moved in put everyone in labor. I had no idea that the weather could play a part in labor but the nurses said it was true! They even had to call in extra staff. I finally got in a room about 2 or after. Dr. Cole said that I could finally have an epidural and pitocin when I got in my room. I got both of them about 3:00. I had a "hot spot" where my epidural didn't take. When the anesthesiologist got there to give me more medicine, 3 nurses came running in. They rolled me over on my side, threw oxygen on me, and had stuff flying everywhere. It took us until everything was okay to know that something was wrong. Nash's heart rate had dropped..... It scared me to death. It went back up (thank goodness.) I got more medicine.... just in time. I had dilated from 5 cm to 10 cm in 25 minutes. Nash's heart rate dropped because I dilated so fast. I waited for Dr. Cole to get there before I pushed. When she got there, I started pushing. I felt NOTHING- it was awesome! On the second push, all I could do was laugh because #1: I was so excited that I could not feel anything. (I felt alot with JH.) #2: Bo and the nurses were making horrible faces (guess they were trying to push for me)- they looked like they were in more pain than I was. I didn't even make it through the third push and our little Nash was out! I am so thankful that we have a healthy baby boy. He weighed 5 lbs and 10 ounces born at 4:16 p.m. He decided to arrive 3 weeks early. The nurses in the hospital called him "Small and Mighty."

36 weeks

We had our first examination today to see how far I have progressed. I just knew Dr. Cole was going to tell me that I was about 1/2 a cm dilated and 50% effaced (especially being 4 weeks still from my due date.) I guess I was trying to prepare myself just incase I hadn't done anything. Before my exam, we talked to her about inducing before December 1st because we found out that our insurance is changing. (Out of all things!) After the exam, she said I was 2 cm and already 80% effaced. I was shocked! I am where I was when I went in to have Jon Harris. I had Jon Harris in 4 hours. This makes me a little nervous:) I know I could stay where I am for the next couple of weeks but it is scary to think that he could come any day now. I still have a few things to do..... like PACK! I haven't packed the slightest thing. Sarah, I promise I am getting on it tomorrow. I go back next Wednesday at 1:00. She said if I have progressed anymore that she was going to put me in and induce for "advanced cervical dilation." I guess we will see soon!

Miley Cyrus Concert

Wednesday night, We took Jon Harris to the Miley Cyrus concert. JH was so excited! I think he was overwhelmed by all the noise but he loved "Rockin Out." We had a blast! She put on a really great show but she only did 2 songs from the "Hannah Montana Movie". I could tell that Miley is definetly transitioning from the child/preteen Hannah Montana to a more mature audience! The concert was almost too old for Jon Harris. I guess she does have to grow up. It's sad because Jon Harris loves watching the show. Who knows- she has a little sister that might be "the next big thing."

Fall Break

We spent fall break in Missouri at Big Cedar lodge. It was great! I highly recommend this resort! We really want to take a vacation there during the summer. Big Cedar has a ton of cool things to do outdoors! Hikes, horseback riding, fishing, paddle boats, swimming pools with a lazy river, boat rentals, and etc...Unfortunetly, the weather did not cooperate very well. -We still had a good time though! Our last day we did get to take a boat out on the lake. It was beautiful! We saw several skunks. Bo and Jon Harris walked up on one of them. I am so glad they weren't sprayed! LOL!

FUN FALL DAY!!!

We had a great day today! This morning we went to the Zoo to see the new Teton Trek. It is a wonderful addition to our Zoo! We loved watching the new Grizzly cubs playing in the water. The wolves were neat to see, too. I would love to hear them howl.

After we left the zoo, we went to Savannah's brother's (Tucker) birthday party. The party was at Priddy's pumpkin patch. It was so cool! We had the best time! The kids went on a hayride, picked out a pumpkin, played on the playground, rode on a train, and made a scarecrow to take home. Jon Harris did not want to leave! We have our pumpkin and scarecrow by our front door- It looks so cute!

Kids- Ya never know!!!

I picked up Jon Harris from school yesterday (like usual.) I told him that tomorrow was his teacher's birthday. I also told him that we needed to get her a present. We talked about it for a few minutes. I suggested a gift card for a manicure because what woman would not like some "me" time. Jon Harris paused a moment and said.... "Well, she has been talking about losing some weight... so, why don't we get her one of those gift card things to that WeightWatcher's place?" I cracked up- I couldn't believe he said what I had just heard. Bless his heart- He could NOT understand why I was laughing at him. I had to explain to him that you NEVER get a woman a gift that has to do with her weight or age! I hope it was a lesson learned (for future purposes.) :)

Nursery Progress

Mrs. Mary Gaither did Nash's picture. We LOVE it! She is so so AWESOME!

We are just waiting on our rocker and changing table to get here. Can't wait!!!

8 week count down

Well, it has started! We have started going to the doctor every 2 weeks now. The time is flying by so fast. October will be over before we know it. It seems that we have something every weekend in October. We are going out of town next week, we have 3 birthday parties this weekend (we were supposed to camp out at the zoo friday night but the zoo called it off), we have Mylie Cyrus concert, and Nash's baby shower ( to name just a few things that are happening.) Fun!! I love Fall!

Jon Harris is getting very excited about Nash! We signed him up for the "Big Brother" class at Methodist Germantown. They have a class for 2-6 years old and 7- 12 years old. He is going to the 7- 12 years old class. I hope it goes well. It sounds like it'll be fun! They have a birthday party for the baby, show them how to change a diaper:), and take them on a tour of the hospital. The only thing I worry about is the video they show of the birth. It is not supposed to be graphic but still..... He already has lots of questions ( like "How is he coming out?")! I have said before that he is a very SMART kid- I have to give him a logical answer. Besides, I'd rather be honest with him. I have been praying that God gives me the right words to say! ( and he will!)

My last doctor's appointment went well. They did an ultrasound and my placenta has moved out of the way- thank goodness! Nash seemed to be doing great! He has definetly grown since we saw him at 18 weeks. I can't wait to see his sweet face! -I am definetly getting bigger... Fun fun. So far, I feel great. I know those days will soon come to an end. ( I hope not) I am now feeling hiccups and LOTS of movement especially when I lay down for the night.

Finally working on the nursery!

We have about 11 weeks left before we meet our sweet baby Nash! My consultant, Sarah- hehe, told me that I have got to get on the ball! She keeps me on task! So, we started the nursery Friday. Thanks to Sarah, Ryan, and my mom, we got most of it finished. We still have so much to get- rocker, dresser, etc... But at least we have a start now. We painted the room blue, put up bead board, and a chair rail. We got the crib, mattress, and bedding. Oh yea! And put in a closet organizer. We had a pretty full weekend! We just can't wait to have Nash in his new bedroom!

Lake 09

We spent Labor Day weekend at Norfork Lake. It was awesome! We had a great time. Jon Harris got to intertube for the first time. He loved it! We could not hardly get him off. (Amy, I told him all about our adventures "tubing" with your family and all the fun we had.) We could hear him laugh and giggle the whole time. He got to ride with Sarah, Uncle Ryan, and Bo-Daddy. We even got my mom on the tube for the first time ever. It was funny watching her and my dad having such a good time. Next year, Uncle Ryan wants to teach Jon Harris to ski. (Maybe I'll be able to do more than just watch.) It was so nice to relax with my family and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It reminded me of all the blessings God has given me! ( More than I deserve!)

Jon Harris's turning 7 years old!! I can't believe how fast he has grown! These past 7 years have definetly been the best years of my life. Nothing beats being a mom. He has been my greatest accomplishment! (Nash, too!)

Steve, "M-Ashley," "Bo-Daddy," and I threw Jon Harris a birthday party at Pump-It-Up. That is the best place ever! They took care of everything- we got to sit back and enjoy. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids. We had a good mixture there.... we had friends from Covington and Cordova attend. Thanks to all our friends and family for coming- you helped make Jon Harris's birthday very special!

Two Down and Two To Go

I just wanted to congratulate my two best friends on the birth of their precious baby boys!!
Two weeks ago, Katy and Landon Morgan had a bouncing baby boy. Colton Rayne Morgan decided to come into the world 6 weeks early. He weighed 5lbs. and 8 oz. Katy and Colton are home and doing great! We love you guys and can't wait to meet Colton! Keep sending us those pictures!
Yesterday, Amy and Erik Beasley had a beautiful baby boy. Mills Oliver Beasley weighed 6lbs. and 10 oz. He is so beautiful! He has a head full of dark hair. Mills and Amy are doing great! I wished I had pictures but with the excitement- I forgot my camera! We love you guys and we are so excited for you!!

Just being Jon Harris

Jon Harris has always been a pretty smart kid. He comes up with some of the funniest things. The other night during supper, we were talking about our bodies and where your food goes once you chew it up. Jon Harris informed us that your food goes in the stomach. When it leaves there, it goes into the small "testament" and then the large "testament." Bo and I tried to keep a straight face.... it was impossible! At least he has been listening in church but too bad it is totally in the wrong text!

Time Flies

First Day of First Grade
First Day of Kindergarten

Where did the last year go? It seems like yesterday Bo and I were walking Jon Harris into his classroom for the first day of Kindergarten. Today we walked him into the classroom for his first day of First Grade. I can't get over how fast he has grown! Before long he will be begging me not to walk him in school, hold his hand, or kiss him in public. I dread it!
We are very blessed AGAIN this year with a great teacher, Mrs. Bledsoe. I have heard wonderful things about her. We are super excited to get to know her better. And to top it off, Savannah, Jon Harris's best bud, is in his class. I was so worried about moving down here to Shelby County but God continues to bless us all!

Zoo Day

This past Saturday the weather was so beautiful! We decided to go to the zoo (we love having a zoo membership.) One of our favorites was feeding the birds in the new "Birds and Bees" exhibit. Jon Harris loved it! Our other favorite at the zoo was the monkeys (of coarse.)

I think all the animals had a little pep in their step because the weather was so perfect! If you haven't been to the Memphis Zoo lately, you should go...... They got voted #1 zoo in the country.

N A S H

This is Bo. This is my first blog post ever. It also is the first time I've ever posted anything on YouTube. Anyways, we thought this would be a cool way to share this for anybody that wanted to see our little boy's first videos.

It was friggin' amazing to see what all they can do with the ultrasound machine. Not too suprisingly, they can record everything on a DVD-RW. Not a DVD-R. Which, by the way, is what I brought for us to record the event onto. So we had to buy one there. But it was a small price to pay for what we got in return. This thing has some amazing resolution, I think. But I don't know much about birthin' no babies. Thanks to my friend Brian at work I was able to rip the files off the DVD and thought this would be a good place to post them in case anyone wanted to see them. So, on with the show:

This is the first one of four. In it, he's blowing a smoke ring. Weird, right?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFn8Dihu3-0

Number two. In this he looks like the Terminator. You can see the lens of his eye. Just like the T-1000. Nash is already cool. Or a nerd. Maybe a cool nerd.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rULBmi416GI

Number 3: really cool. I mean, this is really amazing to anyone interested in pumping technology. The technician was able to move this little cursor around into the different chambers of the heart and listen to each section. I mean, you can tell the difference in the positive-pressure chambers and the negative-pressure chambers. Awesome! Also you can see something they do where they "view" the cord's flow and stuff. Really amazing to me. Also really makes me wonder sometime how people think all this stuff happens without an "intelligent designer." A really intelligent designer...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jxtbxo34inQ

Finally, number 4. This is the one where we finally saw that he is a BOY. Sweet! Also of note to my engineering brain is that his femur was exactly 2.53 cm. That is almost exactly an inch (2.54 cm). So the biggest bone in his body is about the size of one of the little bones in my finger. That really helped me with perspective. I know we're a little late in posting this (we got the news about 2 weeks ago), but now he's 12 ounces and about 10-1/2 in tall. If only i could think of a reference item that is 12 ounces and about 10 inches tall...Anyways, here's the last video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9RezciV8hk

I guess that's it for now. I tried to get some annotations onto the videos but it was kinda dragging, so I figured we'd just post them for now and let anyone see them that wants to do so. Finally, one cool thing is that for the future ultrasounds, they can just burn them all to the same DVD. Sweet.

Big Brother and new bedroom

Jon Harris is getting excited about being a big brother soon. (He says that he can't wait to teach the baby to work a remote for the T.V.) While he was gone to his dad's house, we thought it would be fun to surprise him with a new bedroom. We moved his room in the office so we can put the baby in his old room. (His old room is closer to our bedroom and we thought there would be less disturbances for Jon Harris if the baby was in there. ) He was so surprised! We painted and bought him a new desk and chair. It was so much fun!
Okay..... If you know Jon Harris then you know how "grown-up" he has always acted. He really does think that he is an adult sometimes. ( I often have to remind him that he is a child and to enjoy it.) Well, Wednesday morning before our doctor's appointment, he came to me and told me that he was dreading the baby coming. I asked him why he felt that way. He said that he would have to stop playing with his friends to take care of the baby. I started laughing.... bless his heart, after talking to him for a while, he has been thinking that he is going to have to be Nash's parent. He told me that since he will be in school during the day, he will just have to take the "night-shift." I have laughed the last 2 days! You never know what goes on in their little minds. I reassured him that he will continue to be a child and enjoy his childhood and leave us (me and Bo) to be the parents. He feels much better now and is excited again about being a big brother. He must have really tried to work out a plan to take care of his little brother. That to me is priceless!!

IT"S A BOY!!

NASH THOMPSON WEAVER
We had a doctor's appointment Wednesday. We got the big ultrasound- they were able to see all 4 chambers of the heart, measure his brain, and all kinds of neat things. You could even see the lens in his eyes! It is so amazing how far technology has come just since I had Jon Harris in 2002. We were able to get Nash on DVD. We can't wait to show our family!
The doctor told me that I am not on anymore restrictions- Yayyhh! I am so happy about that! She had me on several restrictions 4 weeks ago and we didn't know how long they would last. I am so relieved.

My boys!! What can I say? I am so lucky! These two are "two peas in a pod." They have been so much fun to watch this past year. Their relationship gets stronger everyday! Jon Harris is crazy about his "Bo-daddy." God has blessed us with such a wonderful man! Bo would never try to take the place of his dad but how lucky is Jon Harris to have 2 men in his life that love him very much!

Jon Harris and Savannah

This is Jon Harris with Savannah, one of his best friends he has made here in Cordova. They have a great time together swimming together at the YMCA, playing with her brothers, and watching movies. We are enjoying getting to know Savannah and her family better!
